Now is the best time to treat your yard for ticks to create a safe, enjoyable outdoor space that you and your family can enjoy all season. We'll show you how to do it the easy way.
Ticks Can Be Dangerous
Some ticks can transmit pathogens that can lead to serious illnesses like Lyme disease, Tularemia, and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. When outdoors, wear light-colored long sleeved clothing and tuck pants into socks. Check pets after time outside. If you find a tick, remove it with tweezers by pulling steadily from the head, flush it, and clean the bite with antiseptic.
When They're Active
Ticks are most active from early spring through later summer (April-September). Though some, like deer ticks, are active until temperatures hit freezing. Protect your yard today with Ortho BugClear!
There Are Hundreds of Types of Ticks
The four most common ticks include the deer tick, American dog tick, brown dog tig, and lone star tick. To determine the tick type and if it was carrying a disease, you can mail the tick to a designated laboratory for testing after carefully removing.
